ANCIENT TAROT OF BOLOGNA

G. Zoni &endash; Bologna, 1780
78 cards - 66x120 mm - Instructions
EX08

Since the fifteenth century in Bologna, the Tarot's Trionfi (today the Major Arcana) were considered a manual for cosmology and as well as a summary of moral precepts and theological considerations. The Tarot then became a game of chance and skill used by the Estensi courts and was later transformed into a tool for divining.
Notwithstanding these changes in use, however, the ancient depictions of the Tarot of Bologna have been maintained almost intact.
